...a really cool upbringing. We were fortunate to do some of the things that allow families to bond in ways that last a life time. Even now no matter how busy our schedules, we still find time to get together once or twice a year over a holiday and good cheer.
What interests did you have that influenced you?

With respect to my interests growing up, I always had an appreciation for model trains and airplanes, and in fact I still have my Lionel “O” Gage model train that I received one Christmas as a kid. It has stayed with me

even longer than any video game or computer product that I have ever owned. Interestingly enough I still have that love for trains and airplanes. I will even admit that I jump at the opportunity to “jet out” simply because of my love and fascination for aviation.

Did you have high aspirations as a kid?

Yes I did. I always had high aspirations as a kid. And to a certain

extent I have always been somewhat an overachiever. In the 6th grade I helped my class win a pizza party because I was the Number One candy seller, school wide, during the annual PTA fundraising event. I also helped my class win another special award because I designed a tiny model airport complete with a watch tower and a moving elevator. I got the elevator to work by using the tiny motor from one of my electric cars and hooking it up to a battery and reversing the current to get it to go the other way. Oh man the voting parents just loved it. The runway had lights in all… My dad was glad I helped my class win but was kind of irritated at me for using some of the dash board lights from the antique cars that he restores (1957 Fords), for my runway lights. Thanks for the lights dad!
It did not stop there that level of success has seemed to follow me throughout my life. A few years back I was employed by the Montgomery Ward Corporation where I was the top credit and credit insurance salesperson for a period of about three years. That experience directly preceded VGIS; however my employment with Wards and my success there really allowed me to understand opportunity and taste a portion of my true potential. I have always been driven.
When and how did you become interested in computers and publishing?

I became interested in computers many years ago. My first real computer was a Tandy 386 from Radio Shack. My birthday was coming up and I wanted a new stereo. My mom kept asking me what I wanted and I said a stereo. So the next thing I knew we were at Radio Shack and while I was looking at the stereos I noticed that she was looking at the computers… I must admit I had about zero interest in computers. But to make a very long story short, I got a computer for my birthday. The rest is history. I have been programming and formatting every since. Thanks for the computer mom!
